Barceloneta and jamón de bellota
Barceloneta and Acorn-Fed Ham. Summer Love.
Discover the narrow streets and squares hidden in the most traditional maritime neighborhood of the City of Barcelona with a delicious Enrique Tomás ham.
La Barceloneta is one of our favorite neighborhoods in the Catalan capital, located in the Ciutat Vella district. It's a place filled with the scent of salt and the seaside breeze, beach vibes, sunblock, dreamy yachts and sailboats, and tourists seeking one of our most precious treasures—our Mediterranean sun.
On Juan de Borbón promenade, you'll find one of our ham stores with a wonderful terrace offering views of the promenade and passersby. Here, you can enjoy a cold beer and a fantastic acorn-fed ham with Sevillian breadsticks while listening to a street musician playing a habanera tune. Sounds appealing, right?
A great way to explore this maritime neighborhood is with a delicious cone of cheese or acorn-fed ham cubes, perfect to take with you as you glide along the seaside promenade on your rollerblades, observing sunbathers on the beach and the iconic sail-shaped Hotel W building. Eating ham in Barceloneta will become an irresistible indulgence...
Among its narrow streets, you'll uncover stories told by the first sailors who arrived in the 18th century and discover the Palau del Mar, currently home to the Museum of Catalan History. In the museum, very close to our store, you can explore a permanent exhibition about the history of Catalonia from prehistoric times to industrialization, the dictatorship era, and the present day.
But if you're in the mood for a more laid-back plan, we recommend the sessions of the most independent cinema at "Cinema a la Fresca" with a takeaway acorn-fed ham sandwich. This unique proposal lets you watch movies under the open sky on Sant Sebastià Beach.
Barceloneta is like "a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" (as Tom Hanks would say in Forrest Gump).
