How do you eat the Iberian loin?
At Enrique Tomás, we have a motto: from the pig to the hooves, we love to enjoy absolutely every piece that is produced from its meat!
When it comes to Iberian loin, it's important to distinguish between the raw cut and the smoked piece, which is also known as marinated loin.
But how do you eat Iberian loin? We're going to share our favorite bites with you!
What's the best way to enjoy Iberian loin?
Iberian loin is the cut of meat obtained from the upper part of authentic Iberian pigs, and it can be used to prepare a variety of dishes. Some of our favorites include roasted loin served with a side of potatoes and onions or roasted loin. The latter can be paired with a sauce, and one of our favorites is the honey and mustard sauce.
The trick to roasting loin is to sear it in a pan for about five minutes and then transfer it to a baking dish to roast for approximately an hour. After this time, your meat will be incredibly juicy.
As for grilling the loin, it's important to note that the preparation time is much shorter. To prevent the meat from drying out, we recommend always serving it with a sauce; it will be irresistible with a bit of bread!
However, besides these two cooking methods, there are many others like loin stew or stuffed loin. Everyone has their favorite, but what's clear is that they're all delicious!
What about marinated loin?
As for Iberian loin, which refers to the deli piece, it's important to note that, like ham, chorizo, or salchichón, it's usually eaten smoked. While some deli meats can be incorporated into different recipes, the same doesn't typically apply to loin.
The best way to enjoy it is by serving it with a bit of bread. But what's the secret? Both the loin and the bread should be of top quality. When it comes to the meat, the best thing you can do is buy a whole piece or a pack of slices at Enrique Tomás. The key to a good purchase is relying on a trusted store, and forty years of experience stand behind us!
So, if you have the ingredients, you need to serve them correctly. If you've bought pre-sliced loin, don't forget to take it out of the fridge and let a few slices naturally separate from each other. Then, transfer it to a plate and serve it.
As for the bread, it's best to slice it into pieces about the thickness of a finger and serve it drizzled with some extra virgin olive oil. Just like with deli meat, you should opt for the highest quality, so it's best to save the sunflower oil for another time. Another option, in addition to olive oil, is to prepare it with tomato. Grate some and spread it on the bread to give it a delicious flavor.
But wait, we have more alternatives!

Spreadable cheese, for example, is another one of our favorites because its mild flavor won't overshadow the loin. You can even add roasted green peppers for an exquisite touch to your preparation.
In summary, as you can see, the answer to how to eat Iberian loin is quite extensive. In any case, the important thing to know is that, no matter how you buy the meat...
It will conquer you!
