About us

It all started in a neighborhood, in a market, and with a passion.

In 1982, in the Badalona neighborhood, a story began that we are still writing today.
We opened our first shop in the La Salut Market, a small shop that would be the starting point of what Enrique Tomás is today.
Right from the start, we had a clear idea: to make ham known, enjoyed, and shared all over the world.
And to achieve this, we understood something very early on: it wasn't enough just to sell ham. We had to find new ways to bring it closer to people.

Doing things differently to go further

Since our beginnings, innovation has been part of our way of understanding the business.
At a time when radio was one of the main communication media, Enrique Tomás was a pioneer in using TeleTaxi to talk about ham and bring it closer to thousands of people.
A different way of doing things that helped us make a name for ourselves and marked a way of understanding our history: always looking for new paths so that ham could go further.
This way of doing things is still part of us: daring to innovate, grow, and look for new ways to make ham known.

The best ham sandwich in the world

If something has marked our history, it is having brought the ham sandwich into our shops and elevated it to the place it always had in homes.
Because a ham sandwich is not a recipe. It is a cultural heritage.
It is in the memory of millions of people: in after-school snacks, walks, excursions, trips, friends, breaks, summers, and winters.
It is part of our lives.
That is why, for us, it is an honor to prepare each ham sandwich putting in the main ingredient: love, which is nothing other than care and attention at every step.
Selecting the ham. Cutting it. Choosing the bread. Preparing it on the spot.
Because every detail counts when the main ingredient is a product like ours.
Thus, the ham sandwich became much more than just a food option: it became one of our hallmarks.

Taking ham to wherever the world is

Our way of understanding ham has always led us to look for new paths.
And if we wanted ham to reach everyone, we also had to take it to the places where the world passes through.
We were pioneers in bringing ham to airports, bringing our way of understanding the product closer to travelers from different countries and turning travel into another opportunity to enjoy it.
Since then, we continue to grow and look for new places where ham can be part of people's lives.
Because our goal has never simply been to open more stores.
It is to take ham further and further.

The difference lies in how we choose each piece

It’s not just about selling ham. It’s about offering a quality product to our customers, caring for it with love, and backing it up with exhaustive work that represents us as a brand.
For us, choosing a ham does not simply mean picking a piece. It means knowing its origin, working alongside our suppliers, and understanding what makes each piece special.
That is why our team of experts travels through the country's main curing cellars and selects, one by one, the pieces that meet our quality criteria.
Because for us, quality begins with selection.

From the neighborhood to the world. Without losing sight of where we come from.

What started in a small market in Badalona is now present in different parts of the world.
But there is something that has not changed: the passion for ham and the desire to continue bringing it closer to more people.
We continue to work with the same passion, love, and care with which it all began, but always with our focus on bringing ham to everyone and finding new ways to do it.
From a neighborhood shop to an airport.
From a whole piece to a sandwich.
Because our goal remains the same as that day in 1982: to make Iberian ham known and enjoyed around the world.
Because for us, ham is much more than a product.
It is culture. It is an experience. It is sharing.
And, above all, it is a story we are still writing.
